The Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, anchored in a long‑term vision that prioritised the quality of its offerings, the novelty of its brands and their presentation. Today, under the stewardship of the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is steadily fulfilling the mission set at its inception: to be a family‑owned enterprise with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company manages around 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since its founding, it has invested heavily in the country’s premier wine regions, and the Alentejo has always inspired a project to deliver its distinctive wines to consumers. In 1998, the purchase of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to deliver a range of complex and stylistically varied wines.
