Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of showcasing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of its products, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its wines. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills its original mission: to be a family‑run, internationally‑oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s main wine regions, and naturally the Alentejo region has always sparked a desire to launch a project that offers consumers the quality of Alentejo wines. In 1998, this vision materialised with the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate, which quickly established itself in the national market for its ability to deliver wines of varying complexity and styles.
