Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines they market, the novelty of their brands, and the presentation of their products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑owned, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, on innovation, and on developing Portuguese brands that reach a global level. The company owns approximately 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s leading wine regions, and, as one would expect, the Alentejo region has always sparked a desire to implement a project capable of delivering consumers the quality of Alentejo wines. Thus, in 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso property was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to offer wines with varying levels of complexity and styles.
