Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the way its wines are presented. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, the company increasingly fulfils the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented enterprise focused on producing quality wines, driving innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global calibre. Sogrape Vinhos owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942 it has invested in the country’s leading wine regions, and naturally the Alentejo has always inspired a project aimed at delivering the region’s quality wines to consumers. In 1998 the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to offer a range of complexity and styles.
