Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition to showcase Portuguese wines to the world, driven by a long‑term vision that prioritised the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly living up to the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally‑oriented company focused on producing high‑quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global calibre. The company manages around 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s principal wine regions, and the Alentejo region, in particular, has always inspired a project aimed at delivering the region’s wines with uncompromised quality. In 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to offer a wide range of complexity and styles.
