This “Peso Trinca Bolotas” from the Alentejo certainly has a story – and possibly some quite plump acorns involved! A blend of Aragonez and Trincadeira delivers a wonderfully intense fruity character, with ripe red berry notes and a hint of spice, undoubtedly influenced by the region’s warmth. As you’d expect from a Decanter Gold medal winner, the producer knows his stuff, and it pairs beautifully with roasted pork with fig compote – a truly comforting combination.
