Papa Leite Estate’s *Pacto do Diabo* is a red wine made from Alicante Bouschet, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It shows a ruby hue and aromas of jam, blackberry compote, and plum, intertwined with floral notes. On the palate its spicy profile is evident, indicating a good integration of the oak in which it aged for 20 months. The Papa Leite Estate, located in Alter do Chão in the heart of Alto Alentejo, dates back to the 17th century, and today you can still see remnants from that era. After many families came and went, Filipe Barreiros Cardoso, who fell in love with the property, acquired it, realizing with the support of his family and team an old dream of producing high‑quality products. Consequently the estate was expanded and revitalized, now covering 320 hectares devoted to wine, olive oil, and cattle. The vines are planted on clay soils, and the grapes are harvested at night and hand‑picked before entering the cellar, where the wine is produced from the finest raw material available.
