Casa Relvas is a family‑run venture that began in 1997 in São Miguel de Machede, Redondo, by Alexandre Relvas. It was created to carry on the legacy of five generations who share a deep love for the Alentejo and its authentic natural beauty. Over the years the family has grown in tandem with the business, and today the estate spans roughly 750 hectares of montado forest, 225 hectares of olive groves, and 350 hectares of vineyards that are 100 % produced under integrated farming practices. With its three properties—Herdade de São Miguel, Herdade da Pimenta, and Herdade de São Miguel de Machede—Casa Relvas can produce about 6 million bottles of wine each year, of which 70 % are destined for the international market.
