Depending on its age, the wines may show time‑related marks, such as dust on the bottles or slight label damage—common in bottles that have sat for decades. The National Cellar stores all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, yet chooses to preserve the visual character that comes with age. We usually pick brands/regions that perform well in old‑wine tastings. Wine, however, is a living organism exposed to time; even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Therefore the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. We recommend opening and letting the bottle aerate beforehand to release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting; it can be too aggressive for old wines. (Illustrative image)
