This Horácio Simões Moscatel certainly seems to have had a rebellious youth, doesn’t it? Aged for 10 years in concrete, without temperature control, it’s as though it went through a particularly spirited adolescence. The fermentation with the grape skins adds a lovely rustic touch, harking back to traditional methods, while the extended winter concentrated the aromas beautifully on the palate. A truly complex wine, and a fantastic match for fresh sheep’s cheese or a generous paella de marisco.
