This Sousão, hailing from Horta Osório, clearly travelled a considerable distance – from its 18kg box to the bottle – to ensure every drop retained its distinctive character. The result is a wine of almost opaque ruby, boasting an intensely aromatic profile reminiscent of resins, balsamic notes, and, of course, dark and blue fruit, as if you were wandering through the Douro’s forests. The oak aging adds a subtle spice, beautifully balanced, and the exceptionally smooth tannins promise a long life of enjoyment, ideally paired with red meats or a hearty wild boar roast. A truly rewarding experience for those special moments.
