This audacious blend of Touriga Nacional and Aragonez clearly decided to ignore convention, instead letting the Douro’s soul dictate its rhythm. The result? A frankly exuberant burst of ripe red fruit, laced with wild berry notes and a whisper of spice, reminiscent of a sun-drenched picnic amongst the vines. Remarkably, the Portuguese Wine Recognition Jury didn’t fall for it, awarding it gold – proving even the most rebellious wines can find their reward. I’d recommend pairing it with a hearty beef stew to tame the beast.”
