Born and raised in Ribeira de Santarém, Hugo Mendes studied Biotechnical Engineering, but his passion for wine spoke louder, and since the 2006 vintage he has devoted himself entirely to oenology. A lover of communicating the art to consumers, he is a regular presence on social media. Since 2008 he has maintained a blog dedicated to demystifying oenology for wine enthusiasts. He became a producer under his own name in the 2016 vintage, having launched Portugal's first crowdfunding campaign to finance a wine. (image purely illustrative)
