Description

The Hugo Mendes Tejo rosé is produced exclusively from the Touriga Nacional grape, revealing the freshest and most delicate expression of this variety in the Tejo. It displays a very pale salmon colour. In the aroma it offers a delicate and sophisticated profile, with notes of blackcurrant, pomegranate, and raspberry, complemented by hints of aromatic herbs. In the mouth it stands out for its lively acidity supported by a firm texture, giving it great freshness and leading to a long, vibrant finish full of personality. Born and raised in the Ribeira de Santarém, Hugo Mendes studied Biotechnological Engineering, but his passion for wine spoke louder, and since the 2006 harvest he has devoted himself entirely to oenology. A lover of communicating the art to consumers, he is a regular presence on social media. Since 2008 he has maintained a blog dedicated to demystifying oenology for wine lovers. He became a sole producer in the 2016 harvest, having carried out the first crowdfunding campaign in Portugal to finance a wine. (Illustrative image)
