Jean‑François Ganevat is one‑of‑a‑kind; there is no equal anywhere in the world. His wines are treasures that result from this vigneron’s extreme care across the entire vineyard, from every step the grape takes until it turns into liquid gold. Jean‑François is far more than a biodynamic practitioner; he is a perfectionist who imagines himself so deeply that each of his small cuvées has its own unique and personal “elevage,” a concept that would drive anyone mad. Though he has worked with Jean‑Marc Morey in Burgundy, Jean‑François makes his wines in the Jura. Nestled between Burgundy and Switzerland are the various vineyards that give rise to all of this producer’s cuvées, which are nothing more than an immortal mirror of each of his terroirs. As a fervent biodynamic, his wines contain only trace amounts of sulfur, and in some cases none at all. (illustrative image)
