This João Portugal Ramos Tinta Caiada seems to have made a firm decision: maturity is now its raison d'être. The nose already hints at what the palate is in store for, with an aromatic intensity bordering on the dramatic, dominated by notes of oak – as if the wine had just completed an intensive oak course – and a touch of spice that promises a vibrant experience. On the palate, the structure is robust, with intensely concentrated red fruits that may benefit from a little air before truly shining. A wine for those who appreciate a bold expression, and ideally paired with some nicely grilled beef.
