This 3rd Millennium by Jules Gautret is essentially a love letter to the Charentes tradition – those tannins have clearly spent a considerable time chatting with oak barrels. The cellar master here expertly blends the refinement of barrel aging with the delicate “eau-de-vie” character so characteristic of the terroir. A truly lovely wine to savour, particularly after a sophisticated meal, and one that earned a prestigious Grand Gold Quality Award from Monde Selection in 2013.
