Located in the Portuguese Alentejo region, Quinta de Dona Maria is recognised for its 18th‑century palace, which not only serves as a historic landmark but also has been linked to wine production for more than 150 years. In 1988, under new owner Júlio Bastos, the wines produced at this estate began to be marketed nationally and internationally, earning recognition from both the general public and wine critics. Although the old cellar has been restored, expanded, and modernised, the 19th‑century marble vats remain, still playing a key role in the vinification of these quality wines.
