90 pts Wine Enthusiast – Deep purple centre with a narrow rim of brick‑red. Vigorously, opulent berry aromas dominate the nose, a rich infusion of ripe black and red fruits. Gradually emerge notes of shaved wood, cigar box, and licorice, along with light, dried rose petal and violet hints. On the palate the fruity, complex character resurfaces with intense strawberry, currant and plum notes that linger in a long finish. Supremely integrated tannins give body and structure without disturbing the wine’s velvety texture. An exceptionally fine 2009 vintage, matured to perfection with excellent fruit quality – seductive and approachable, yet still brimming with structure and vigor.
