The majestic “encrave” of La Cautiva, situated at about 1,600 meters above sea level in the heart of Gualtallary, is shaped by the Andean landscape into a deeply distinctive and alluring Malbec. Conceived by the perceptive winemakers Andrea Mufatto and Gerardo Michelini, La Cautiva Óleo comes from a small plot of organic cultivation where sandy soils, pebbles and limestone benches give it an unmistakable identity. Unlike the typically herbaceous notes of the region, here stand out violet tones, floral touches and a profound mineral character of iron and earth, rich in expressive depth. A minimal‑intervention vinification using whole clusters and a paused aging in wooden barrels creates a juicy, meaty, and tense expression, designed for lovers of alpine elegance and gastronomic sophistication.
