La Rosa – still largely unexplored, the Douro terroir offers an incredible opportunity. Nothing more than La Rosa itself, whose vines dramatically rise over the river, with the imposing Vale do Inferno vineyard, climbing steadily to reach 500 metres on Lamelas, whose magnificent views hover over the heart of the region. The estate’s grapes are Category A – the best the Douro has to offer. Slate and granite soils, coupled with an extremely varied topography, allow the white wines to display remarkable acidity, mineral character and freshness. La Rosa’s whites are characterised by floral, citrus notes and a balanced fruit. Vinification: native grape varieties from old vineyards. DOC Douro aged in French oak staves.
