This Lagar de Darei Reserva, born from the very heart of the Dão, is a lovely demonstration of the aged elegance of Touriga Nacional – you really get a sense of the region’s character. The red fruit flavours are beautifully balanced with hints of spice and a touch of oak, a result of its maturation in used barrels. A complex wine, recognised with 93 points by Revista de Canais, it’s particularly good with game or a hearty beef stew.
