Lagoalva The long tradition of Quinta da Lagoalva as a wine producer is attested in 1888 at the Portuguese Industry Exhibition, where it presented 600 wine cases. The Lagoalva Barrel Selection white wine emerges from the 45 hectares of vineyards at Quinta da Lagoalva planted in the finest “terroirs” of the Tagus, composed of the best national and international varieties with proven enological performance. The vineyards benefit from a modern management system, as does the cellar, which combines efficient vinification with a wide range of enological options, based on a dialogue between the “New World” model and traditional European choices. Vinification: Harvested from vines planted on alluvial soil in the Tagus Lezíria, the grapes are mechanically picked at night at the end of August and beginning of September to preserve aromas, then transported to the cellar where they are pressed in a pneumatic press. After 48 hours of settling, the clarified must ferments in French oak barrels at 18 °C, where it matures for 4 months with weekly bâtonnage. Enologists: Pedro Pinhão | Luís Paulino. Allergen information Contains sulphites.
