The bottles of aged wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as expected for their age. Garrafeira Nacional is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we inform you that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle, aromas are subject to various evolutions. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, ensure you do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment, which an old wine tends to produce. (illustrative image)
