Pinyeres Negre is one of the classics of Celler Masroig, embodying the spirit of artisanal wines. It started as a blend of half a dozen varieties, but today only Cariñena and Garnacha are used. Its name comes from a legend in which Pinyeres was the name of an ancient village that once stood where El Masroig is now, destroyed by a soldier who fell in love with a young villager that did not return his affection.
