Depending on its age, the wines may show signs left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some label damage, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar ensures that all wines are stored at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select brands/regions that typically perform well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism, and like others, it is exposed to time; even within a bottle, aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine's quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle air out beforehand, as this will help release the wine's natural aromas after so many years of closure. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines. (Illustrative image only).
