Description

The most famous wine from the House of Louis Roederer was created in 1876 to satisfy the discerning tastes of Tsar Alexander II. The emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve the House's best cuvée for him every year. He was particularly fond of the House's wine. So that the best cuvée could be told apart, Louis bottled the champagne in distinctive clear, uniquely shaped bottles. Thus the name Cristal and the brand were born, and to this day the brand lives up to its quality. Building on this legacy, Cristal white is produced exclusively in the finest vintages, when the Chardonnay (about 40%) and Pinot Noir (about 60%) grapes reach perfect ripeness. To complete its refinement, Cristal is aged for six years in the cellars of Louis Roederer and rests for a further eight months after dégorgement. As a result, it is remarkably balanced and refined, with an incomparable length.
