This Luís Pato “Vinhas Velhas” is a delightful reminder that the Bairrada still holds a few secrets. Blending classic Antuária and Souzao, with a touch of Trincadeira, it delivers a wonderfully vibrant acidity and a surprisingly fresh character, very much in keeping with the region’s spirit. Expect notes of ripe red fruits, echoing the limestone terroir, and a lingering, elegant finish – as you’d rightly anticipate from wines rooted in such ‘old vines’. It’s a fantastic match with a good roast pork loin or aged cheese.
