This Xisto from Luis Seabra certainly has a spirited personality – a “à moda antiga” fermentation allowing the native yeasts to express themselves fully within the grapes, followed by a graceful maturation in 225-litre oak barrels. The inclusion of Touriga Franca, alongside those 22 months in oak, delivers an unexpectedly elegant wine. Remarkably precise Aragonez shines through, a testament to the quality of the grapes, and it’s practically begging for a hearty beef stew.
