Originating from the village of Lanciego in Álava, where the wines Lanzaga and Altos de Lanzaga are also produced (one of Rioja’s finest, by Telmo Rodríguez). The LZ is a tribute to the 1920s growers of the village, created with a desire to keep that flavor’s memory alive. It’s a red that undergoes a brief maturation in cement tanks, eschewing traditional oak ageing. A fresh, lively and light red, with well‑balanced acidity and pleasant tannic nuances.
