Members of the Chapoutier family have worked in the Rhône Valley since 1808. A distant ancestor, Polydor Chapoutier, was the first to purchase vines in that locale, evolving from a simple grape grower to a merchant who made his own wine. The pioneering spirit was already part of the family tradition. Michel, now in his early thirties, manages an exceptional heritage, a land rich in history and tradition. Passionately interested in expressing the character of the soil, Michel has found the means to bring his convictions to life. A new era for the winery, embracing changes that link the past traditions to Michel’s bold convictions.
