The Chapoutier family has worked in the Rhône Valley since 1808. A distant ancestor, Polydor Chapoutier, was the first to purchase vines there, moving from a simple grape grower to a merchant who produced his own wine. The pioneering spirit had already become part of the family tradition. Michel, now in his early thirties, manages an exceptional heritage, a land rich in history and tradition. Passionately interested in expressing the character of the soil, Michel has found the means to bring his convictions to life. A new era for the winery, embracing changes that link past traditions to Michel’s bold convictions. It’s a matter of time.
