This Maçanita feels like it sprung straight from an Atlantic breeze. Grown on a vine over 60 years old, just 80 metres from the sea, it delivers a wonderfully bracing salinity, laced with iodine and a hint of linden blossom. The “slap of the sea” moniker is entirely justified – it’s a dense, concentrated wine with a wonderfully refreshing acidity. Winemaking, utilising direct presses and fermentation in both inox and oak, adds a welcome layer of complexity. Seriously delicious with fresh seafood or a good, flaky white fish.
