Very few producers—especially in Madeira wine—have experienced a revolution in their history as great as Barbeito’s. To go from supplying bulk wine to becoming a reference point for the Madeira Wine region is a remarkable feat. Everything began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese partners Kinoshita, turned Barbeito into one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
