Very few producers, especially in the Madeira wine sector, have witnessed a revolution as profound as the one that took place with Barbeito. Going from a bulk wine supplier to becoming a benchmark for Madeira wines in the region, all in a single moment, is remarkable. Everything unfolded in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with his Japanese partners Kinoshita, decided to transform Barbeito into one of the most important producers of Madeira wine.
