Description

The story of Henriques & Henriques, founded by João Gonçalves Henriques, dates back to 1850. After his death in 1912, a partnership was formed between his two sons, Francisco Eduardo and João Joaquim Henriques, giving rise to the name Henriques & Henriques. From the very beginning the house has held a prominent place in viticulture and the art of winemaking. In 1913 the family’s interests were incorporated into a family company that, in 1925, began exporting its wines rather than supplying them locally to other exporters. Since then the company has embraced the latest technological innovations while maintaining the unaltered family tradition that has endured for 200 years in producing the finest Madeira wines.
