The history of Henriques & Henriques, founded by João Gonçalves Henriques, dates back to 1850. After his death in 1912, a partnership was formed between his two sons, Francisco Eduardo and João Joaquim Henriques, giving rise to the name Henriques & Henriques. From the very beginning, Henriques & Henriques has occupied a prominent place in viticulture and the art of winemaking. In 1913 the family interests were organized into a family company that, in 1925, began exporting its wines instead of supplying them locally to other exporters. Since then the company has embraced the latest technological innovations while preserving the unaltered family tradition that has lasted 200 years in producing the finest Madeira wines. Total control over all aspects of production allows H&H to produce and market wines of exceptional quality. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown. (illustrative image only)
