The history of Henriques & Henriques, founded by João Gonçalves Henriques, dates back to 1850. After his death in 1912, a partnership was formed between his two sons, Francisco Eduardo and João Joaquim Henriques, giving rise to the name Henriques & Henriques. From the beginning, the house has occupied a prominent place in viticulture and winemaking. In 1913 the family interests were incorporated as a family company that, in 1925, began exporting its wines instead of supplying them locally to other exporters. Since then the company has embraced the latest technological innovations while preserving the unaltered family tradition that has lasted 200 years in producing the best Madeira wines. Total control of every stage of production allows H & H to produce and market wines of exceptional quality. The bottling year may not match the image shown (illustrative only).
