This Magnum Duas Quintas Reserva clearly benefited from some serious attention – it’s bursting with vibrancy and intensity. The aromas, dominated by plum and cherry notes – reminiscent of a particularly fine ginja – suggest a long, graceful maturation. The Wine Spectator’s 92 points seem entirely justified; the mouthfeel is smooth but well-structured, with tannins that have clearly seen some action, culminating in a finish that practically begs for a second glass. Perfect with grilled beef, perhaps spiced with a touch of black pepper.
