The Quinta das Maias is situated at about 600 m above sea level at the foot of Serra da Estrela, with its vineyards cultivated using organic farming. Its name derives from the yellow grasses that blanket the slopes – called “Maias” here because they bloom in May. Owing to its setting, the wines are noted for their crisp freshness and mineral profile.
