The Quinta das Maias is located at about 600 metres above sea level at the foot of Serra da Estrela, and its vineyard is cultivated using organic farming. Its name derives from the yellow gorse that covers the mountain slopes, which here are called “Maias” because they bloom in May. Owing to its location, the wines produced are characterised by freshness and a mineral profile. (illustrative image only)
