Produced from grapes sourced from a 43‑year‑old Touriga Nacional vine planted on southwest‑facing slopes at 450 metres altitude, it is a classic rosé: fresh, aromatic, and very pale. It offers fresh notes of raspberries and roses, with a subtle touch of clementine. On the palate it is crisp, mineral‑laden, and finishes with a long echo. Jorge is the fifth generation of a long line of wine producers and cellar owners. In 2009, Sandra and Jorge acquired Quinta da Manoella, a property whose history dates back to 1838. The vines at Quinta da Manoella are over a century old, flanked on both sides by younger vines, producing wines of high freshness and delicacy, with a concentration that quickly makes them renowned as some of the best Douro wines. Founded in 2001 by the oenologist couple Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, Wine & Soul has invested in and bought old vines and properties in the Rio Pinhão valley. Their goal is to create wines that express the full character of the old vines and indigenous Douro varieties, seeking balance between concentration, complexity and elegance. (illustrative image)
