Made from grapes sourced from a 43‑year‑old Touriga Nacional vineyard planted on southwest‑facing slopes at 450 metres altitude. It is a classic rosé, fresh and aromatic, with a very pale hue. It offers bright notes of raspberries and roses, with a subtle hint of clementine. On the palate it is crisp, with mineral undertones and a very long finish. Jorge is a fifth‑generation member of a long line of wine producers and cellar owners. Consequently, in 2009 Sandra and Jorge purchased Quinta da Manoella, a property whose history dates back to 1838. The vineyards at Quinta da Manoella are over a century old, flanked on both sides by younger vines, enabling the production of wines that are highly fresh and delicate, yet concentrated enough to quickly earn recognition as some of the best wines of the Douro. Founded in 2001 by the duo of winemakers Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, the company Wine & Soul has invested in and purchased old vines and properties in the Rio Pinhão valley. Their aim is to craft wines that fully express the character of the old vines and indigenous Douro grape varieties, seeking balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
