“This Maritávora Nº 6 started with a rather dramatic entry – a third of the grapes were coaxed to macerate on granite – ensuring a wonderfully concentrated extraction of colour and tannins. The remaining portion, handled with a touch more restraint, was fermented to highlight the characteristic elegance of the Touriga Nacional and Aragonez. Twelve months aging in French oak has smoothed out the edges without sacrificing the wines’ genuine expression. A wine of medium body, perfect alongside grilled beef or a selection of cured meats.”
