Description

This wine shows an accentuated straw-yellow colour, and on the nose it reveals nuances of white-fleshed fruit jelly and exotic fruits. On the palate, it is intense, with notes of oats, vanilla, toasted cereal and a subtle caramel sweetness. Aware of the enormous potential of the lands of Cantanhede for producing superior-quality wines, in 1954 a group of 100 farmers founded the Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede. Today, the cooperative counts around 700 active member winegrowers and an average annual production of 6 to 7 million kilograms of grapes. It is the leading producer in the Bairrada Demarcated Region, accounting for 30 to 40% of the region's total production, and certifies about 80% of its output. It is also the outstanding leader in sales of DOC Bairrada and IG Beira Atlântico wines. (image for illustrative purposes only)
