The National Cellar commits to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always maintains the visual appearance that reflects their age. We usually select brands/regions that perform well in old wine competitions, and in this case the Ferreirinha wines are often highly praised. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve. Thus the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe first, which will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines. (Illustrative image)
