The bottles of aged wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is to be expected given their age. The National Cellar is required to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands and regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of older wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve in various ways. Consequently, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, which helps release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant before serving, do so patiently to detect any sediment that an old wine tends to develop. (illustrative image)
