This Medeiros is a delightfully understated arrival from the Alentejo – expect cedar and vanilla dancing on the nose, a clear indication of the pleasure to come. It’s a full-bodied wine, dry and remarkably fresh, with an acidity that’s quite bold. The fruit is intensely concentrated, layered with sweet spices and herbs, almost whispering secrets. Seriously, it pairs beautifully with a good grilled steak – that lingering bitterness is a welcome addition.
