This Niepoort Field Blend, crafted with the input of Ljubomir Stanisic, Luís Pedro and the legendary Dirk Niepoort, is a passionate tribute to the Douro’s unique field blends. Featuring 20% of “secret” indigenous grapes alongside 50% Rabigato, 10% Viosinho and 10% Códega do Larinho – plus a touch of Arinto for invigorating freshness – it’s born from century-old vines in the Cima Corgo, with its distinctive xisto-rich soil. The spontaneous fermentation in French oak barrels, with the lees playing their part, delivers a remarkable level of complexity. Expect a wine with a pH of 3.14 and a vibrant acidity of 6.30g/L, perfect alongside a grilled fish with a zesty lemon sauce.
