After years of selling to other producers, Michel Ogier only very late began bottling his own wines in the 1980s. Stephane, his son, took the reins of the Domaine at the end of the 1990s and forged a great reputation for himself. After 10 years of winemaking he established himself as one of the largest Côte-Rôtie producers. He cultivates small plots of vines along Côte-Rôtie. His wines are quintessentially Côte-Rôtie yet polished in a modern way. Nothing is overly systematic here; every detail of the vinification process is carefully considered and the techniques are adapted as needed. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months in 20‑100 % new oak. They are glorious wines—charming and seductive, yet with the necessary density and dimension for a true Côte-Rôtie.
